Raiders Sign Veteran Linebacker to Shore Up Depth Ahead of Playoff Push
The front office made a calculated move Tuesday, adding a proven veteran to a linebacker corps that has been tested by injuries in recent weeks.
The Las Vegas Raiders announced Tuesday the signing of veteran linebacker Robert Spillane to a contract extension, locking in one of the team's most reliable defensive contributors. Spillane, who has been a tackling machine for the Silver and Black, brings leadership and experience to a linebacker corps that has been stretched thin by injuries.
The Raiders front office called the move a natural fit. "Robert has been everything we hoped for and more. He's a leader in the locker room, he plays fast, and he's hungry to help this team win."

Spillane is expected to continue as a starter and key special teams contributor. His physicality and football IQ have made him one of the more underrated linebackers in the AFC West.
